History

Richard Henry Beasley was born to Pamela Beasley (his mother never told him that his father was Damien Grimsby, who happened to be a Wizard, but Pamela didn't know this), a Muggle, so it came as quite a surprise when Professor Dumbledore showed up on their doorstep to explain what Hogwarts was to the family. However, Rick was not surprised in the least bit - from a very young age, his one goal in life was to become a magician, so when Dumbledore told him that he, in fact, was a wizard, this was a million times more exciting.

When he arrived at Hogwarts, Rick was totally stunned with everything around him, and he completely immersed himself into his studies and into wizarding culture. The game of quidditch became his new obsession - his best friend in his year, Barnabus Bigglesworth, was a huge Appleby Arrows fan, so Rick began to follow the team obsessively as well.

Since he was not very athletic (in fact, he was quite clumsy at times) and thus could not actually play quidditch, Rick devoted himself to his studies with an ultimate goal of becoming a mediwizard. His friendship with Barnabus grew stronger, even as the two grew to be teenagers and started dating. Rick and Barney decided that they both wanted to save the world, and Rick would be saving lots of lives as a mediwizard.

However, when he was nineteen, and one year into his mediwizard training, Rick experienced his first relationship break up and did not take it well at all - his girlfriend of three years, Betsy, was cheating on him with an older man who was a stereotypical playboy (playwizard?). Rick had romanticized and idealized his relationship with Betsy, so they hadn't consummated their relationship (they planned on doing so on their honeymoon). The day he found out that she had been cheating on him, Rick vowed to change his ways. He dropped out of the mediwizard training, traveled the world for two years to "find himself" and came back a changed man.

From this point forward, Rick was a totally different person. He was a womanizer, a player, and decided that there was nothing more important in life than having fun and of course having sex.

He started renting a flat in muggle London, and got a job at the ministry of magic (honestly, no one has any idea what he does, but he makes a LOT of money doing so). Rick now has a penchant for suits, a love of drinking, and an appreciation for women.

During the pinnacle year of the war, as Rick is a Muggle-born (or at the very least, did not know this his father was a Wizard), he sought safety by staying with his mother's relatives in the United States. However, his best friend, who was a pureblood, was not so lucky - he fought in the Battle of Hogwarts, and lost his life. Rick has felt somewhat empty since the loss of his best friend, and is still looking for someone with whom he shares that much in common and can trust in that way.

Personality

On the exterior, Rick is friendly, happy, and jolly, but deep down inside, he longs for affection, both in the romantic sort and just in the friend way. He enjoys being in charge of groups because then he has disciples to teach his ways of life. He's afraid of being alone, but he shuts out anyone that could possibly actually want to be with him in fear of being rejected like his only real girlfriend did to him.

Rick is also a very fun-loving guy. His goal in life is to enjoy himself, so he lives each day like it's his last, because one day, it actually will be. He's known to skip out of work to travel to another country or city for the day, and will do anything to get into a girl's pants (and this really does mean anything).
